Seattle Yarn Pr0n
Jul 4th, 2008 by turtlegirl76
Except, I didn’t buy this. Today’s pr0n was a wonderfully thoughtful gift to me by the generous and kind Trillian42. She was lucky enough to be able to go on the Seasocks Cruise this year, but while she was away, she thought of me! And I see she’s trying to get me back to my color roots.
Mmmm…green. I haven’t bought green yarn in ages it seems. I’ve been on a kick with oranges lately. This is a lovely 50/50 Superwash Merino & tencel blend. Talk about a soft sock! Perhaps this is MY future pair of Embossed Leaves?
Apparently this came from Little Knits. It is Fly Dyed Hand Dyed Yarns. I’m not sure if the colorway is called Nymph or if this line of yarns is called Nymph. Either way, it’s pretty as hell.
The green is not just a solid green. You can see a very subtle tonal variegation to the yarn.
Very, very subtle. If I had to guess - and remember, I’m not a dyer I just play one part time on the blog - I would say this was kettle dyed.
I also seem to have a rare gem in this one. Only 5 of this color were made - at least in this dyelot anyway. You have to love indie dyers. Every customer is special.
Not only did I get the yarn, but she got me some really kick ass turtle earrings in Alaska. I of course have not got a pic of me wearing them yet (and I’ve been wearing them since they arrived right before I left on Wednesday) but I’ll be sure to do that soon. There will be blogging this weekend. I have my sister’s completed capelet to show you, and some of my adventures thus far (there’s been jello shots and golfing involved - and yes, yarn).
But back to the yarn. THANK YOU, PAM!

Have a great time in Seattle!
totally yummy. trillian picked an excellent color for you.
Hold the phone! Jello shots? Were they patriotic?
That’ll be the yarn line that’s called Nymph http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/flydyed-nymph-hand-paint
About damn time you’re gonna knit the Embossed Leaves for you! That gorgeous green will be perfect! Hehe interesting name too
Beautiful yarn-I’m GREEN with envy. Have fun in Seattle-I was just there last weekend (I live in Oregon). Eat lots of seafood-I recommend a place called Jimmy’s across the street from Safeco field. It is the restaurant at the bottom of The Silver Cloud Hotel and they have wonderful crabcakes and a thing called a slider which I never had before and was wonderful..sorry this is way too long to be a comment on a blog entry-I should have PM’d
I was in feeding your cats last night and saw this on the table. I had to pick it up. Soooo pretty!
IM IN YER HOUSEZ, FONDLIN YER YARNZ!
The perfect yarn from the Emerald City! Soooo pretty. =)
That would be perfect for Embossed Leaves.
I hope you’re having a great trip and a great 4th!
Gor-ge-ous yarn! So pretty…
Gorgeous green from the Emerald city!
Gorgeous green there!! And yes, they should definately become YOUR embossed leaves. Seriously!
Happy 4th of July!!
That’s really pretty. I’ve decided my next bout of dyeing will rely heavily on greens and blues. It’s just cooling and calming, I guess. Have fun for the rest of your trip and I’ll be standing by Tuesday night!
Heeeeeeeheheeeheeeheeeee. So when Pam sees the word nymph, she thinks of you, eh? Heeeheheheheheheeee. *dirty mind*
