ArtsyGal Sock Club - June!
Jun 20th, 2008 by turtlegirl76
When I came home on Wednesday, it was to a very nice surprise.
My June shipment of the Artsygal sock club arrived! (Psst, that link brings you to the very last slot currently open for her club right now). And with it, some of the cutest tiny little sock stitch markers from Spindlecat Studio
So tiny! But check out the beautiful neutrals in the Merino/Tencel hank I received.
I love these colors all together. Coppers and charcoals and gold all rolled into one beautiful hank of yarn.
This will be my last shipment for a little while. I’ve elected to take the summer off of my sock clubs. Joining the Rockin’ Sock Club meant making a few sacrifices and well, to keep the other clubs for now would have meant sacrificing food and toilet paper.
I could just try and time it so I only had to go to the bathroom in public restrooms and mooch off friends for food or troll the local gardens but I figure I’d better just be somewhat responsible and try and get a handle on my finances. (Those who know me may now proceed to laugh at such a prospect.)
For a last shipment (for now) I’m incredibly pleased. This will make a beautiful pair of socks.
Oh - and the skirt is done. Tonight I shall con some friends into helping me with a poolside photo shoot. I have lost the services of my FO-tographer due to circumstances beyond my control. We shall all wish Lisa & Rip well and hope that life gets a little less too “too” for them.

I’m the first to comment?! That’s pretty badassed. Anyways…
I seriously covet those stitchmarkers. I just did a stash reorganization and vowed not to buy any more yarn for awhile… stich markers don’t count as stash do they?
Your blog introduced me to Artsygal, and I’m so glad it did! Everything I’ve seen of hers I’ve loved. I love this colourway - she’s a dyeing genius!
Not for nothing but that skein says ROSI G. alllll over it! Dem’s is my COLOURS!
I’m gonna have to hit up her shop.
Oh, and straight finances? That’s a joke!!!
hmmm…financial health or yarn?? man, life is just full of tough choices! But that skein is gorgeous and I covet it.
Wow, that yarn is AWESOME! I just found Spindlecat via Ravelry earlier this week and I’m hoping today is a good mail day
I can’t wait!!
Good for you for giving up some of the shiny in order to eat
I’m feeling a little over-clubbed myself sock-wise, but I’m pretty committed for the rest of this year. We shall re-evaluate in the fall!
Beautiful neutrals - those would be great for work socks.
What yummy yarn! Makes me want to hire a painter and go back to knitting.
Pretty yarn! I like merino tencel blends. So shiny!
Can’t wait to see the finished skirt!
I really should try something with tencel. It’s so sheen-y!
Got any random novelty yarn in the stash? You could use that in place of toilet paper. Although, it would probably tickle. Or chafe.
Hehe..that Weez! Love those colors!! Make sure they take the pictures first before any imbibing…
hehehe…Weezie cracks me up! Lovely yarn!! A little sacrifice is worth the Rockin’ sock club, but going without toilet paper….yeah, probably good to keep that in stock
Pretty! I never go for neutral palettes, but these are nice…
LOVE the colors in the yarn. Reminds me of leopard print (rawr!) LOL. Can’t wait to see the skirt.
That really *is* a pretty combination of neutral colors. Makes me rethink my own color palette of mostly brights…
Jas makes such beautiful yarn *jealous*
I am so tempted to join a sockysock club but no can do - I have been forbiddend to bring any more yarn into the home until I
a) knit down some of my stash
b) get another credit card paid off
so I will have to be content for a few months to drool over your stash LOL
Good times
PS - your skirt totally effing ROCKED - you should post that little video

Gorgeous yarn! Could you not live on baked beans for a while so you can afford a few more months of that?
Ooooooooooo - I love it!!! And be sure you are in a bikini top for a pool-side photo shoot in your new skirt!!!
oooh those colors are stunning! You could always “borrow” TP from work!
You know a drastic cut in the food budget would eventually lead to savings in the tp department.
Just sayin’
Can’t wait to see the skirt! Love the teeny stitch markers and the colours in that skein are awesome.
Pretty and I covet the stitch markers. Didn’t understand the bit about Lisa and Rip.
Mmmmm…. that yarn is sooo gorgeous. Tough call!
