Who Knew??
First off, have you gone over to the Little Knits blog and put a vote in for Rosi G’s awesome New York City Stole she designed for the Shaeffer Trenna Contest? If not - go! I’ll be here when you get back. I promise.
Saturday, I was able to put in a good amount of time on the cuffs of the 2 at once Sister Socks.
The Charlotte Dragon Boat races were Saturday and Cat and I went to cheer our friend May on as she paddled her little heart out. Unfortunately her teammates were more interested in ice cold beer than the competition and they were really never in sync. When she got to compete with her normal, competitive team, it was much better. But even with the temperature crawling close to 100, I was still able to get a good few inches of 3 x 1 ribbing on the cuffs.
Cleopatra’s Stockings are coming along. I was able to get through half the first pattern repeat last night. I’m using a toothpick as a cable needle because well, cabling yarn overs without a cable needle sucks. But I’ve got my groove on with the pattern so I think I’ll be ok.
Violet Beauregard is starting to shape up. One more round of purple and one last round of the multi and I think she’s done. I have to try it on first and double check that I’m satisfied with the length though. Then I have to do the tie for the waist detail.
Charlotte’s Web is now in transition from 24 Karat to Fred Flintstone. I’m terribly pleased that I have both Barney Rubble and Fred Flintstone in the same project. It was meant to be that they go in the shawl. Here’s a wide shot of all the colors so far.
I’d still like to get it done by the end of this month but since the rows are getting so freaking long, I’m not positive it will happen. But I’ll try!
Now, again, please put a vote in for Rosi! The New York City Stole!

You have been jamming on your projects! Barney, Fred and Cleopatra are all looking great!
the shawl looks gorgeous.
maybe you should have linked to th elivestitch main page so that people can see all of the entries before voting? here is a link to the page where you can see the shawls in all their glory http://www.livestitch.com/
Heh … Fred and Barney, together again. All you need are Wilma, Betty, Pebbles and Bam Bam!
Are you magic looping both of those sock pairs? I kind of want to try ML during Summer of Socks, but am so happy with 2 circs that I kind of don’t want to!
You know my vote’s gone to Janine, but I’ve a feeling your blog campaign will make more of an impact than mine!
It may be because I’ve spent too much time in the sun recently, but the colour progression in the shawl looks like a reverse sunset over the sea. Maybe?
Awesome socks! Gorgeous, gorgeous Violet Beauregard. I am so glad you broke open the peach/apricot/whatever because the color scheme is sweet. And Barney Rubble and Fred Flintstone in the same project is SO something I would do, and it’s just a bonus that they look that great together in CW.
Love the Cleopatras. The colorway is striking, and the traveling stitch really shows up nicely. And the socks look like a little bra top on the needles. That’s a lot of progress for one post; I’m envious!
Just a word of advice: the crocheted skirt might stretch if you are using a summery fiber blend without a lot of bounce. like, a lot.
i have experience in this area. but you are probably smarter than me and washed and hung a swatch to test the stretchiness. i will cross my fingers for you.
I love how the Candy Corn is knitting up! And that Violet Beaurecantspellit is looking really, really cool.
Mmm, such pretty colors.
Can you vote more than once??
Everything looks GREAT!!! Know the socks I have been making? Just finished the leg and had Mr. Man try them on. Too friggin’ small darnit!!!! That’s what I get for “forgetting myself” and starting a sock cuff down. What the heck is wrong with me????
Everythings looking great! Heh, I even like them there Candy Corn Socks too!
Such bright, summery colors!
Huh, I was just going to post and say OMG YOUR SOCKS LOOK LIKE CANDY CORN but it looks like others have beat me to it…and if the colorway is, in fact, named candy corn, then let’s just say that the naming is apt.
I’d be tickled, too, if I got Barney Rubble and Fred Flintstone into the same project.
Wow! The Charlotte’s Web is coming along fabulously!!
