It’s Friday. What to post….

I’m running out of imagination on my post titles can’t ya tell? So anyway, today we have a twofer! You see, I’ve had this hank of Collinette Jitterbug in the Lagoon colorway with me on the past 3 YPF photoshoots. Yup. Three. The color is so freakin’ hard to capture. It just comes out neon. I think I finally got it this time with the help of the evening sun and LOTs of tinkering in Photoshop.

I absolutely love this colorway. And if I had thought to look closely at the ball band, I would have bought another.

Why? I see 267 meters of why on the ball band. Since I purchased this, I’d heard that the yardage was rather skimpy on this but geeze. I guess this’ll have to be socks for my mom with the narrow feet and preference for ankle socks.

But it’s still so pretty. I’m glad I finally captured it.
Up next, the only color of Sock Candy that The Fold had. Cherries Jubilee. I was so happy to snag some of this.

I’ve been wanting to see this stuff in person ever since AmyKnitty talked about it, I think on her blog after she’d gotten it at Rhinebeck maybe? Yeah yeah, I could search her blog for it but sheesh. It’s 7:33am and I gotta get to work soon.

I think this is what may become my very own pair of Red Dwarf Socks.

You know, I don’t own a pair of either of the socks I’ve designed? I need to rectify that. I need my Cascade Fixation Ankle Socks of my very own and my own Red Dwarf Socks. But first, I must finish Carmen’s socks. I’m on the cuff of the first. Yay! It is Summer of Socks you know. I can’t believe I went over a week without a sock on the needles.

Ah, two hard colors to photograph! But they can out good. I have some of that Cherries Jubilee and I’m looking forward to seeing what you make with it.
Where did you acquire your sock candy? I went to bluemoonfiberarts and they did not have sock candy, so it must be older? And I know what you mean about getting colors right, I have some stuff in ravelry that people must think is soo ugly, but if they could see it in person they would change their minds.
Hold the f$#k on! *runs to check yardage*… DAMN. How on earth do they charge so much for just ONE sock’s worth of yarn?? So, now I’m only gonna get one sock out of that stuff? *cussmuttergrumble*…
YUM. I want that red Sock Candy. If you find it missing, don’t look at me!
Gorgeous pics as always. Really love the blue green of the first one. Lagoon is a perfect name for it.
btw : Love the new colors and layout.
Oh the Jitterbug, I guess it depends on how big your feet are. I have an average sized woman’s foot, and I had plenty of yardage for my Jaywalkers. The yarn is a little bit thicker than a true fingering weight, too, in my opinion, so that helps as well.
So beautiful - I love the contrast of colours.
Also, just an FYI, this never showed up in my bloglines feed
I only saw you posted through my yahoo reader.
Ooh… pretty!
I know, what’s up with that Jitterbug? I feel like a skimp giving it away as a prize last month. I think the rich colors hypnotize you into not caring, or not reading the yardage until the credit card has been swiped.
Someday I’ll fondle that STR Sock Candy. I can’t say no to a good cotton sock yarn.
Whoa - or socks for your cats! Sheesh - and the colour is so stunning.
Lovely colors! Yeah, I’ve got a few skeins of the Jitterbug, think they’ll be plain vanilla socks, at least the first pair until I know how much/long they’ll be. As for the sock candy…yummy!
I made myself a pair of size 7,5 Jitterbugs with a 17cm leg and still had 20 grams left (out of 110g). You just need to be carefull with the pattern you choose.
Size US 9 womens, I got a pair of feather-and-fan socks (plain stockinette feet, FNF legs) out of one skein, but I used about every inch of it. They were longer than ankle socks but not as long as, say, Pomotomus. Choose your pattern carefully and you can do it.
When I bought my Jitterbug I was shocked by the yardage/thickness too, especially since it doesn’t FEEL that much thicker than sock weight. The sales clerk said it’s fine, and unless you like really tall socks you should be okay. For one thing there’s no need to use the 3.5 mm needles they recommend. Socks are s’posed to be knit tighter, right? I’m using 2.5 mm needles on mine right now, and they don’t feel like I’m forcing the yarn at all.
Those Jitterbug colors remind me of a Carribbean vacation. Someone bring me a rum punch, stat!
I think you’ll definitely have to rectify the sock situation. The yarns are gorgeous, you always pick such lovely stuff.
Both colors are soooooo pretty!!! And you definately need to get a pair on the needles soon!!
