A Verdict

Well, if you read the edit at the end of yesterday’s post, you’ll already know. As it turns out, my sister doesn’t even remember picking out that yarn for herself. And she doesn’t like it. She does want socks, but in a more “normal” solid color. So, Hot Pink Pomatomus it is! Hee! I started last night, I’m not very far but I can totally see just how easy the pattern really is. I’ve also started another pair of sister travel socks. This time, I figured out how to do a round star toe from the toe-up. Don’t worry, I’ll share when they’re done.
I did finish a pair of socks for my nephew, again. (He’s cute. I can’t help it.)
And a close up of the YO Short Row Heel:
Details:
Pattern: My own. Magic Cast-on, 56 stitches, YO Short Row Heel
Yarn: Knit Picks Parade
Needles: US 2 Addi Turbos
Started: April 30th
Finished: May 15th
Notes: This was my lunch time purse knitting for the last couple weeks. On the heel, I cut out the solid stripes when they came up so that the striping pattern would not be interrupted along the length of the sock. I like they way this made them turn out, though it was a lot of ends to weave in and a short cuff than I would have otherwise had. I still think he’ll like them.

It was worth the work to do the heel striping that way! The uninterrupted striping makes the whole thing just darling.
Told you pomatomus was easy.
vERY CUTE!
Ooo, round star toe going toe-up? Now I want to be stariel AND you when I grow up!
*cough* even though I’ve probably old enough to be both your…big sisters….
Well if your sister doesn’t want the yarn for socks for her, that’s more socks for you! Cute little socks for your nephew! The stripes are definitely worth the extra ends to reckon with.
Those are terrific.
I don’t know, if someone knit socks for me, since I love them and just don’t knit them, I’d fall over. Even if I didn’t like the color. I mean, what is she wearing them with? strappy sandals and a skirt?
The nephew, though, he’s going to be obviously well-loved.
You are a sock knitting machine woman!! Nice job!
