If you’ve been paying attention to the sidebar lately you’ll have noticed that I finished up 2 more pairs of socks. One being these for my mother.
Yup. Another pair of my Cascade-Fixation Ankle Socks. Only this time, with a star toe. Wanna know the recipe?
At the same point in time that you’d start the toe of the regular recipe, knit one round placing a marker every 8 stitches.
Round 1: *Knit to 2 stitches before the marker K2Tog* all the way around
Round 2 & 3: Knit
Repeat these 3 rows 2 more times. Decreased 18 stitches, 30 stitches remain.
Round 1: *Knit to 2 stitches before the marker K2Tog* all the way around
Round 2: Knit
Repeat these 2 rows once more. 12 stitches decreased. 18 stitches remain
Round 1: K2tog all the way around.
Repeat this row until there is only 1 stitch between each marker. Thread tail through the 6 remaining stitches and pull tight. Weave in your ends and gift socks to your mom. Ask mom if she likes the round toe better than the regular toe. Brace yourself for the response.
Coming tomorrow - a new pattern! Yay! Tentatively titled “The Red Dwarf Socks” as in “I’m gonna get you little fishies, I’m gonna get you little fish.” Inspired by a cd I recently purchased at a browncoat get-together. The CD is called “Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers” the song that reminded me how much I loved Red Dwarf and The Cat can be read here.

Pretty colors!
I only got to see a few eps of Red Dwarf, but I loved them! I can’t wait to see the new pattern.
Can’t wait for that pattern! I’m going to try that toe on my next pair! Thanks!
Oooh pretty! And btw, do you mean browncoats as in “big damn heroes” kind of browncoats? “Too pretty to die” browncoats?
Oh! Did you wear your Jayne hat to the browncoat get together?
Like the toe endings. For my next pair.
I LOVE Red Dwarf! I may have to make the socks no matter what they look like- how cool!
